Spain Euro 2016 Squad- Diego Costa, Juan Mata, Fernando Torres out

One of biggest news coming from Spain national football team selection is the one of the high profile player in Spain team, Chelsea’s midfielder Diego Costa is left out of the provisional squad for Euro 2016. Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has announced the 25 man roster for friendlies and training. Costa’s Chelsea teammates Cesar Azpilicueta, Pedro Rodriguez and Cesc Fabregas is selected in the list.

Costa has scored 16 goals in 41 games for Chelsea in this season and he was also in the squad against England win by 2-0. His struggling time at Chelsea may be the reason for his omission. Although this is not the final squad but Bosque has to select final 23 members before 31st May.

Fernando Torres who helped Atletico Madrid to reach UCL final for the 2015-16 season has also left out in the squad. Juan Matta, Man United midfielder also missed Euro 2016 squad. He played in last 6 matches in Spain team despite this he has left out in 25 man roster.

Del Bosque also named an 11-man reserve list including Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin, who will join up with the squad to compensate for the absence of 17 players.

Defenders: Sergio Ramos, Gerard Pique, Dani Carvajal, Jordi Alba, Marc Bartra, Cesar Azpilicueta, Mikel San Jose.

Midfielders: Juanfran, Bruno Soriano, Sergio Busquets, Koke, Thiago Alcantara, Andres Iniesta, Isco, David Silva, Pedro Rodriguez, Cesc Fabregas.

Forwards: Saul Niguez, Aritz Aduriz, Nolito, Alvaro Morata, Lucas Vasquez.
