New Zealand 15-Man Squad & Schedule for Champions Trophy 2017: The injured stars Adam Milne, Mitchell McClenaghan and Corey Anderson are reported to have recovered from their respective injuries. They are now possibly named in the New Zealand’s final squad for ICC Champions Trophy to be held in June, ending their longer injury lay-offs that wouldn’t let them play for a long time.
These three are expected to be extremely fit by the beginning of champions trophy as they are said to be fit enough right now to be playing for Indian Premier League. A total of 8 players are currently playing in the Indian Premier League – Corey Anderson, Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme, Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, Mitchell McClenaghan and Adam Milne.
Mitchell McClenaghan’s latest appearance was in the T20 international match of the T20 World Cup Tournament held in India. While Adam Milne appeared in the semi-final against England held in New Delhi, the post which, both of them have struggled to recover from injuries.
Mitchell McClenaghan recently recovered after a long lay-off in the Indian Premier League, popping Twelve wickets. He also holds a record of achieving Fifty wickets most quickly than any other bowler out there in the New Zealand side. While Adam Milne is playing for his side since the last seven years after which he suffered several injuries and was dropped. During his time, Adam took a total of 52 wickets out from 51 matches.
The 15-men squad will represent five of the best batsmen, four pacers, three seamers cum all-rounders, two special spinners and a wicket keeper. This squad is a great mix of some stunning all-rounders and seamers, but it’ll be worth to watch that who makes it to the playing 11 successfully.
The selectors dropped Ish Sodhi too which raised concerns regarding the type of variety that he would have been able to provide.
The team is also all set to compete in the upcoming tri-series to be held in Ireland before the big tournament.
New Zealand’s first match versus India is a warm-up match to be held at the Oval on 28 May.
