The recently promoted AFC Bournemouth has entered into a sponsorship shirt deal with the Mansion Group that is a company based in Gibraltar, Spain. The deal is valid for the impending 2015-16 premier league season. It was under the guidance of Eddie Howe that the Cherries achieved the promotion in the top flight of the English football.
This is simply a 1-year deal that may further extend if the team can actually survive the drop. The logo of Mansion will be seen on all the 3 jerseys where Mansion will replace “Energy Consulting.”
AFC Bournemouth’s commercial director, Rob Mitchell, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mansion as our new official shirt sponsor. Mansion is one of the globe’s biggest names in the online betting and gaming industry, with a history of sporting partnerships. This is a major commercial deal for AFC Bournemouth and we look forward to a successful partnership ahead.”
The shirt sponsorship deal with the Mansion Group will fetch the team a sum of about £5 million for one single season. If the team is capable of avoiding the relegation the contract may further be extended with new and improved financial terms.
The Group is not new to sponsorships in the Premier League teams. In the year 2006, the company tried to sign a deal with Manchester United. This obviously didn’t work out and later the company managed to sign a 4-year sponsorship deal with London based Tottenham Hotspurs. Mansion Group is one of the leading casino or the betting companies in Gibraltar and United Kingdom. They have made several attempts to enter into the sponsorship deal with some of the top notch teams in the premier league. Things have often not worked for them with the big teams. Let’s see if their venture with AFC Bournemouth turns out to be fruitful or not. It would also be exciting to see, how long this sponsorship between the two lasts.
